Abstract Micro Finance Institutions provide financial services to the poor through different models. The transaction costs and recovery performance differ across these models. The objectives of the study are: 1. For each model of delivery, identify components of transaction costs 2. Propose a costing system to determine the full costs and compute the full costs for selected clusters 3. Document the reasons for variations in the costs across the models.
