| Abstract |
Nutrition of infants, children and mothers is the weak area in the rural areas of most of the Indian states. NRHM targets IMR and MMR reduction to achieve the MDGs. It is necessary to have proper integration and co-ordination of ICDS and NRHM at the village level through focusing on anganwadi and ASHA. Specific recommendations for this purpose are made to IAP for NRHM, based on international best practices and field survey in five states. |
