Abstract The objectives of the study are to: • identify organizational structures and processes that support innovation in higher education institutes for exploiting public high speed network for HE and FE and research centres in India and UK. These could be along curriculum design, delivery, content creation, collaboration mechanism, shared use of resources, and administrative systems • understand the role JISC and other institutional mechanisms at the national and local level that allow JANET • identify the role of ecosystem partners in facilitating adoption and usage • suggest possible learning from UK and India for publicly provided key national infrastructure which both countries could use effectively and would have implications for other countries planning similar infrastructure • suggest a study of key higher education and research institutions and the use of networks, management issues regarding this deployment, and innovation within the contextual understanding of the higher education sector in each country.
