Abstract |
The objective of this project is to understand managerial challenges in establishing an urban health centre and evolve a model urban health centre through public/private partnership.
Phase I of the study focused on understanding community needs for health care in Ahmedabad by developing a profile of the urban population across socio-economic status, public health facilities, and health seeking habits.
In Phase II some of the public-private partnerships in health will be studied. This calls for a detailed analysis of quality of services and the nature and type of MOU. Several stakeholders will be involved to establish a good working model of public-private partnership for urban health in Ahmedabad. It is hoped to extend the Ahmedabad model to other cities in Gujarat and offer a urban health model for Gujarat.
