Abstract |
Gujarat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI) serves 175,000 outpatients and 15,000 inpatients and performs more than 750,000 lab and radiology investigations annually. To meet its social obligations of treating all cancer patients who seek medical care, GCRI has been providing highly subsidized services. GCRI management has to determine the extent of “charity it can provide while still continuing to operate as a viable institution in the long run. This study will address the issue of social obligations of non-profit organizations such as GCRI. |
