| Abstract |
The study covers maternal health services, specifically midwifery and emergency obstetric care (EmOC), in rural areas. The aim is to improve maternal care in India through development of inter-institutional collaboration between Swedish and Indian institutions in the area of midwifery and EmOC. The specific objectives are: developing centres for excellence in midwifery training and selected nursing colleges; prepare situation analysis papers for advocacy; develop and test midwifery focused maternal care model in rural areas; conduct policy analysis and management studies in maternal health; and develop active network of organizations working on improvement of maternal health services. |
