Abstract |
Against the backdrop of global market conditions with increasing competition and quality concern, on the one hand, and a large number of small, direct or indirect stakeholders facing market imperfections and market failures in the Porter value chain of any agri-business enterprise on the other, this study aims highlighting the need for suitable institutional responses in terms of building up appropriate agri-business organizations together with appropriate contractual forms to rope in all important stakeholders as well as to take care of their concerns. Case studies of several private, cooperative, government and non-profit agri-business organizations across sectors will be undertaken. |
