The objectives of this study are to:
test statistically the existing hypotheses in the literature on the behaviour of contractual mix between cash and kind wages of casual agricultural labourers against micro data of 64 such contracts.
undertake a fresh case study of three selected villages from West Bengal during the harvesting season of summer (Boro) paddy not only to collect fresh data, but also to find out the limitations of the present approach. |
