The objectives of this study are as follows:
Review of the literature on the subject including a review of the functioning of formal and informal sector credit in India.
Bringing out the stylized features of the credit flow to small and marginal farmers based on a review of study reports for 14 AER centres/units.
Analyse the reports from 14 AER centres/units.
Prepare a consolidated document on the experiences of micro-finance in India.
Prepare a policy matrix for resolving credit problems of vulnerable sections of borrowers in rural India.
