The objectives are to study the inventory management practices at the Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute and suggest possible avenues for reducing the cost for medical care. It will analyse the existing system of inventory management, identify changes required, and suggest a reengineered inventory management systems for effective and efficient handling of hospital supplies. The proposed computer based inventory management system would integrate the activities of stores, purchase, and finance departments to ensure availability of medicines and drugs for patient care, and minimize the cost of inventory. |
