Gujarat Cancer Research Institute, Ahmedabad, is faces financial constraints owing due to increased cost of medical care and a freeze on the grant it receives from the state government. It is therefore necessary to explore avenues for containing the cost of medical care. There are two areas for cost containment: purchase management and inventory management. An earlier project analysed the purchase management systems and processes and recommended a reengineered system, which has now been implemented. The current study proposes to analyse the inventory management systems and processes and recommend suitable changes to manage the inventory efficiently and effectively. |
